The 4th Year Anniversary of “Dave White Presents” will be a Comedy Spectacular with The Simpsons, Spinal Tap, Jack Benny, Cheers, Frazier and M*A*S*H—For Starters!

Yep, “Dave White Presents” debuted on Tues. Aug. 28, 2008! So it’s more than appropriate we celebrate our fourth year next Tuesday, August 28, 2012 on We decided to offer a comedy special to honor the occasion with two very special guests!

First, Harry Shearer’s show biz career began at the age of 7 when he joined the cast of the Jack Benny radio show. He hung around with folks like voice actor Mel Blanc, appeared in the 1953 Abbott and Costello Go To Mars, starred in the pilot for Leave It To Beaver, and wrote for Saturday Night Live. Then he starred in projects like Spinal Tap, A Mighty Wind, his PBS series Le Show, and, of course, he’s the voice of all those characters on The Simpsons.

Next Monday, Harry’s new comedy music album, Can’t Take a Hint, is coming out. He’ll be discussing that album as well as his lengthy career with Wes Britton on our very special anniversary show!

We’ll really get into his new satirical tunes featuring folks like Dr. John and Jeff “Skunk” Baxter. Yep, we’ll debut three samples from the hot off the press disc . . .

Before he became a comedy scriptwriter for shows like Cheers, Frazier, and M*A*S*H, Ken Levine was a typical teenager growing up during the ‘60s. Back then, he thought Love-Ins were great picnics where folks brought pot instead of potato salad. He didn’t watch sitcoms with Patty Duke, Elizabeth Montgomery, or Barbara Eden to laugh—he watched them to, ah, do what young single guys do when . . . Oh, he also worked in a record store where he had to keep tossing out a stoned Neil Young.

Ken shares such stories in his new memoir, The Me Generation . . . By Me (Growing Up in the ‘60s). On our next DWP, Ken discusses that very funny book with Mr. Dave White himself! They’ll get into the influence of radio on his generation and the humor of being a Baby Boomer looking back on those crazy times. How did Levine’s formative years influence the scripts of some of the most successful hits in TV history?
